The IC-R30 far outperformed the SDS100 and rarely stopped, opened squelch without good clear voice traffic. On noisy or poor voice traffic some were unintelligible on the SDS100, the IC-R30 still had impressive clear audio. These are listed here as well. Since the introduction of the BC250D scanner Uniden has used a standardized 12-digit serial number protocol as follows: 383Z88123456. It has firmware 1.10.00 and sub version 1.02.01. The Sentinel update to 2.03 went fine and now has the new tuning steps for custom searches, but I don't have any need for them. When I stop the SDS100 on the exact same frequency that the TRX-1 is decoding, programmed as a DMR freq., it doesn't even make a hit on the signal bar. I can't imagine the TRX-1 is that much more sensitive on DMR than the SDS100. It also uses a battery pack instead of AA batteries. The newer SDS100/200 models are basically programmed and work the same way as the 436/536 models with a few extra features. Sep 6, 2018 · I believe it’s Uniden’s use of a radio case (for the SDS100) used in their marine line of portable radios that’s at issue here. The marine case is touted as being waterproof/resistant so Uniden kept the moisture resistant feature and advertised it as a plus for the SDS100. But the marine portables don’t use SDR. Without the lock symbol printed next to the power button it could cause a lot of confusion when the keypad stopped responding after being locked.
