May 18, 2017 · I tried to get info on a model 10 and found most people telling me to buy the book. S&W puts out a book to look up manufacture dates. No one would look it up for me because they paid for the book and I did not. On a more serious note, if you lube the barrel enough you should have no problem dating your gun. .
